A full look at how all twenty regions battled toward Williamsport
The 2026 Little League World Series regionals wrapped up across the first two weeks of August. Ten United States regions and ten international regions each crowned their own champion team. Every regional winner earns a trip to South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the main event.
Play began on August 6 and continued through August 14 across five different host sites. Talented squads from nearly every state fought through tightly contested elimination brackets. Several games swung on late-inning rallies, wild pitches, and clutch two-out hits.
Last year's tournament ended a remarkable American streak that had lasted six straight seasons. Chinese Taipei defeated Nevada in the 2025 championship game to claim the title. Fans now wonder whether any 2026 squad can reclaim that trophy for the United States.
The Midwest final between Iowa and Wisconsin turned into an extra-inning thriller on Friday. Iowa eventually won 7-6 after Anthony Johnson Jr. scored on a wild pitch. The two sides combined for twenty-four walks before Iowa finally sealed its trip to Williamsport.
Pennsylvania claimed the Mid-Atlantic crown with a 3-1 win over Delaware in the championship game. An early error and a clutch RBI single gave Pennsylvania all the runs it needed. Reliever Ryan Donnelly closed out the game by recording the final crucial out at first base.

New Jersey overcame two separate four-run deficits to stun Connecticut in a wild finish. Owen Feliz delivered a game-tying, two-RBI double during the crucial fifth-inning rally. Jett Bridges and Chase Klimkowski then added back-to-back RBI singles to seal the win.
Nevada showed strong pitching and timely hitting throughout its Mountain Region semifinal matchup on Friday. Carsynn Meyer, the only girl competing in this year's regional round, doubled to extend the lead. Starting pitcher Owen Guzman struck out ten batters across just five dominant innings.
Saturday featured action across nine separate regions spanning the United States and Canada. Ohio, New York, Iowa, Utah, Vermont, Massachusetts, Idaho, and Washington all posted convincing wins. Nearly every matchup that day finished with a margin of five runs or more.
The Southeast and Southwest tournaments had already advanced deep into their respective brackets by midweek. Tennessee blanked Florida 4-0 behind strong pitching and disciplined situational hitting throughout the contest. Texas West edged past Louisiana in a tense one-run finish that came down to the final out.
Canada's regional tournament followed a separate schedule from every other qualifying region this summer. Games took place in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, running from August 3 through August 12. The Canadian champion also secures direct entry into the international bracket at Williamsport.
Several international teams had already locked up their spots well before the U.S. brackets finished. Curaçao's Pariba Little League won its tournament in a rotational schedule running from March into April. Panama's David Doleguita club also earned automatic entry under that same rotational agreement.
South Korea's West Seoul club rolled through the Asia-Pacific region with a perfect six-and-zero record. Australia also wrapped up its regional tournament early and secured a spot in the field. Results from Europe-Africa, Japan, Mexico, and Latin America followed later in the summer schedule.
Little League officially announced the Curaçao and Panama direct-entry arrangement back on January 20, 2026. That rotational system rewards those regions with guaranteed berths every few tournament cycles. The remaining eight international regions determined their champions through traditional single and double-elimination play.
The complete twenty-team field became official once every remaining regional final concluded in mid-August. Little League had already conducted the opening-round bracket draw back in mid-June this year. The actual World Series now runs from August 19 through August 30 in Pennsylvania.
United States and international teams will compete separately within a modified double-elimination format again this year. The last unbeaten team from each bracket eventually meets the last team carrying just one loss. Fans should expect another tightly contested tournament given how competitive this year's regionals proved to be.
